Magic Man – Paris

Here is a little bit of magic for your Monday morning. If you wish you were in Paris with this Providence-based synth-pop group put your hands up!

Born Too Late – Dent May

That sexy man in the tub in the video is Dent May, a native of Jackson, MIssissippi and the singer of today’s afternoon tune. Dent is the ultimate indie musician with his Lennon-like glasses, released LPs, and funky fashion. Enjoy!

Passenger – Let Her Go

The afternoon tune for today is for all you lovers out there:

“Well you only need the light when it’s burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go”

Fronted by British folk-rock singer-songwriter, Mike Rosenberg, Passenger’s most successful single “Let Her Go” topped the charts in 16 countries. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 2009. If you feel like being nostalgic, moody, or just plain brokenhearted today, this song is for you.

Dusty Springfield – Son of a Preacher Man

We needed to take a little break from the awesome indie music we normally post and do a throw back to 1968 with Dusty Springfield’s groovy tune “Son of a Preacher Man.” The rights to cover the song was originally offered to Aretha Franklin who turned it down. Too bad as this was a huge hit in both the UK and America! Wednesday is Hump Day so turn it up, lean back, start snapping your fingers, and revel in the fact that the work week is halfway over!

Pheonix – If I Ever Feel Better

Hopefully these guys will never feel better because we love the music they are putting out. This is an easy song to work to, chill to, or play on the boombox on your shoulder as you strut down the sidewalk.

Play It On Me – Bronze Radio Return

Bronze Radio Return originates in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a laid-back acoustic version of their song “Play It On Me.” Perfect for a post-Labor Day weekend chill-fest!
